Another week, another book club. Turns out I still haven’t found the time to make a lot of progress on reading or summarising any of the books I am currently reading. So today I decided to discuss what the best fiction book is I ever read.
It is not an easy choice, however my favourite genre, by far, is science fiction. And thus, there are many great classics I read to choose from. Books like “Player of games” by Iain M. Banks, “Dune” by F. Herberts, “The book of the New Sun” by G. Wolfe, “Ringworld” by Larry Niven, “Three body problem” by L. Cixin or “The Forever War” by J. Haleman. All great great books I can highly recommend if you enjoy (science) fiction.
But I haven’t mentioned my favourite author, Jack Vance. Jack Vance wrote so many great fantasy and science fiction books, or at least I feel he has. My favorite book, perhaps out of nostalgia, or because it feels like an epic adventure I would love to have done, is “Planet of Adventure”. The first time I read the book was when I was little and I remember clearly the impact the book made on me, although "Lord of the Rings" and "Dune" had similar effects I feel the entire body of work of Jack Vance is so good I cannot ignore it.
I am not sure if I can really classify one book as my all time favourite. Perhapse I haven't read it yet? Do you know what your favourite fiction book is?
